I’m working on a post about my recent trip to Santa Barbara, but in the meantime here is the first video I shot for Beer Belly.
Tomorrow, we will be headed to Golden Road Brewing in Atwater Village to shoot another video. I am really excited that we’ll get to speak with Meg Gill, co-owner of the brewery. I’m hoping to get more time editing this video so that I can improve upon the previous one.
I am also planning a return to homebrewing. My last beer was a pale ale brewed with Calypso hops. It was a great beer with a lot of pear and apple flavors. A friend of mine gifted me a pound of Cascade hops grown on his parent’s farm, so I’m putting together a recipe that will lend itself to Cascade. I’m thinking of brewing a (Brown) IPA, or a hoppy wheat beer.
I must sincerely apologize for my two month vacation from beer blogging. I started this blog many months ago when I was unemployed/underemployed, bouncing from job to job just trying to get by.
WELL, my absence from That’s Ale He Wrote was caused by me finally getting a full time job! I am an account manager for a digital distribution and encoding house in Los Angeles. I work with NBC, Magnolia Pictures, Music Box Pictures and MGM, helping them deliver their content to video streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. I’ve been there for about two months and I’ve really enjoyed having steady work. But it has taken me away from this blog.
I also have another piece of exciting news. I am shooting and editing video for Beer Belly, one of my favorite beer bars in LA. They are mostly promotional videos for events that the bar is holding, mostly brewery spotlight nights.
So, that’s what I’ve been up to. I hope that you will continue to read my blog as I become more active in the blogging world once again.
